I’m Nicole Rosander, owner of Caring Transitions of Silver Spring North. I was born in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to the United States when I was fourteen. Not long after, I found myself getting involved in senior-focused community activities through choir and volunteering, and that stayed with me. Later, I joined the U.S. Air Force and served for six years as a linguist, eventually becoming a Staff Sergeant. When I was stationed in Maryland, something about this area just felt right, and when my service ended, I chose to stay and build my life here.
Over the years, I’ve worked in a mix of roles, including retail, customer service, and hospitality, and each one taught me something valuable about people. I learned how much it matters to really listen, to show up with empathy, and to help bring a sense of calm when someone is feeling overwhelmed. I’ve also always had an entrepreneurial side, and I knew that if I ever started a business, it had to be something that truly meant something to me.
That’s exactly what I found with Caring Transitions. This work feels personal. It gives me the chance to support seniors and families during times that are often emotional, stressful, and full of big decisions. My goal is to be someone people can count on, someone who brings compassion, clarity, and genuine care to the process. I’m proud to serve Beltsville, Laurel, Greenbelt, and Silver Spring, and I feel grateful to do this work in the community I now call home.
